Trish is proud to support Language Teachers and Coordinators as colleagues, advocates, and mentors in the profession. She currently serves as President of BCATML and BCLCA, and Treasurer of CASLT—roles that keep her closely connected to the field and allow her to contribute in meaningful ways. As Faculty Advisor with the French cohort at SFU, she brings over 30 years of experience in language education and a deep commitment to supporting teacher development. She enjoys organizing professional learning, shaping policy conversations, and strengthening networks for educators, modelling lifelong engagement for SFU student teachers and Early Career Additional Language Educators across Canada.

Carl (il/he) est professeur adjoint au département des Langues et littératies en éducation (LLED) sur le campus de Vancouver de UBC. Il est reconnaissant de pouvoir travailler et apprendre sur les terres ancestrales, traditionnelles et non cédées du peuple xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam). Avant de joindre UBC, il était enseignant en immersion française. Dans son travail dans le domaine de la formation en enseignement du français, il encourage le personnel enseignant – présent et futur – à adopter une orientation interculturelle qui favorise la reconnaissance des identités des élèves et un engagement profond, réfléchi et juste avec la langue et le monde qui les entoure.

Joanne Brunel

Joanne Brunel is grateful for her role at UBC Okanagan School of Education as the Southern Interior French Network Facilitator. She collaborates with the French coordinators, representatives and the pre-service and in-service educators from the fifteen school districts of the region. This collaboration and networking with pre-service and in-service teachers, administrators and support teams was created with the goal of further providing accessible, engaging and language rich environments where all students can be successful.
She has taught in Francophone and French immersion programs for more than twenty years and has worked in the school system for over thirty. Her experiences as a teacher assistant, a classroom teacher in Manitoba and B.C., a classroom support teacher, a member of the Instructional Leadership Team and the Early Learning Team at SD23 in addition to her role as SD 23’s District French Language Coordinator have provided her a wide rage of learning opportunities that have helped her to grow as an educator and as a member of the larger French language learning community. She is proud of her francophone heritage and is passionate about inspiring others to experience the richness of the French language and culture.

Je suis en enseignement depuis septembre 1986. J’adore offrir un accompagnement aux élèves de toute âge. J’ai travaillé 30 ans dans les écoles du Sud du Nouveau-Brunswick et je suis en Colombie-Britannique depuis 10 ans. Présentement, j’accompagne les étudiant·es du BEd à UBCO depuis septembre 2022. J’adore la nature!

Corina White

Corina White, born and raised in Prince George, B.C., has dedicated over 30 years to the field of education. She completed her undergraduate degree and Professional Development Program at Simon Fraser University and holds a Master of Education in Multidisciplinary Leadership from the University of Northern British Columbia.
Corina has taught French Immersion from Kindergarten to Grade 7, with a strong focus in early primary. She also enjoys and greatly values her role of French Programs Coordinator for School District 57, supporting educators and language programming across the district.
Passionate about literacy and oral language development in French, Corina is deeply committed to mentorship, collaboration, and ongoing professional learning. “

Diplômée de l’immersion française tardive sur la côte est du Canada, Beth enseigne en immersion française depuis 2014 et depuis quelques années elle a relevé un nouveau défi en tant que directrice adjointe dans une école d’immersion et coordinatrice des programmes de français du conseil scolaire de la Vallée de Comox sur l’île de Vancouver.
